Hiiii! My name is Brooklyn Walker, I'm 16 years old and a junior at King Drew. I live in Compton, California and I am the oldest of 8 kids. I play two sports, volleyball and softball, and am a high honor roll student. I am a part of Radical Rosies because I enjoy giving to the community and helping others.I enjoy baking and decorating as hobbies and I spend most of my time with my friends and family. My peace spot in the world would be somewhere close to nature and somewhere quiet. Once I graduate I plan to study medicine and psychology and eventually be a pediatrician, pediatric psychiatrist, or a OB/GYN. My plan in Radical Rosies is to collaborate with a group of educated members to help enlighten my peers on the importance of gender equality and how to break apart social norms.

Hi everyone!! My name is Gabrielle Nosike. I am 16 years old and currently a junior at King/Drew Magnet High School. I’m the youngest of 3 siblings, both of which I look up to. Growing up in an African-American household, I was inspired to be the best educated and chase after success for both myself and my family. In school I play volleyball as well as outside of school in a club. I am also a part of multiple clubs which I actively participate in. This doesn’t distract me from school however. I aspire to go to college and pursue my dream career in healthcare, specifically majoring in pre med or biological sciences. I am proud to be a rosie, it allows me to continue to do things that I love which includes advocating and voicing my opinions and helping others.

Hello, my name is Isa Carpinteyro. Currently, I am a 14-year-old Freshman attending King Drew Magnet High School of Medicine and Science. I am a proud Mexican and the youngest daughter of a single immigrant mother. I have big dreams of going to college and majoring in a topic of my liking although I'm still determining what I want to study at the moment. Growing up I have seen many women around me be treated badly, and the difference between working women and men when it came to being paid. My goal is to climb to success, have a stable career, and be able to educate others to eventually create a place where everyone can freely live and be treated equally.

Hi! My name is Shaila Morado. I am a Mexican-American daughter and a proud cat owner. One of my main hobbies is being a cook and a dancer. I love to watch horror movies, but also Disney movies. I enjoy going to the beach and my favorite holiday is Christmas. I am a senior at King Drew Magnet High School and I dream of pursuing the career of a pediatrician that will change the lives of many wherever I am. My role as a Rosie primarily will be to smash the patriarchy one step at a time, with the help of my other Rosies. In great force, I plan to be a voice for my culture and community to empower not only women but everyone.
