What is Women's Day?
Once a year our school holds an event called Women's Day which is where students volunteer to teach a class about a specific topic they choose. The topics vary from gender stereotypes, recognizing women not many know about, teaching men boundaries, and more. We decided to volunteer and be facilitators to educate our peers about the social problems that are going on. We noticed that many of the topics discussed were always the same and so we decided to do something about it and pitched in the idea of recognizing how great being a women is and we tried to redefine the purpose of the event. We understood that talking about what women go through is important, but it is always something negative that is spread and we wanted to talk more about the good things.
Although teaching students was hard, we were able to have a successful year.
